Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior PowerShell Automation & Deployment Engineer to design, implement, and support automation, deployment, and system-management solutions across on-premises Microsoft infrastructure and Microsoft Azure environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in release management, application support, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and major technology rollouts within sensitive and regulated environments. This position requires strong PowerShell, Windows Server, SQL, CI/CD, and troubleshooting expertise, combined with effective stakeholder collaboration and a disciplined approach to security, compliance, and operational resilience.
Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation and Deployment

Design, develop, test, and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation solutions for application deployment, infrastructure configuration, system administration, and operational support.

Plan, coordinate, and execute application deployments, software releases, mass data uploads, and data-mutation activities.

Verify rollout schedules, deployment outcomes, system readiness, and post-release stability.

Develop reusable, reliable, and secure automation components that improve deployment speed, consistency, and traceability.

Integrate automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines and source-control platforms.

Support the adoption of infrastructure-as-code practices across on-premises and cloud environments.

Plan and execute major software upgrades, technology migrations, and enterprise rollouts with minimal business disruption.
Application and Infrastructure Support

Provide second- and third-level support for complex application and infrastructure incidents.

Investigate and resolve production issues through structured troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.

Monitor, maintain, and optimize applications and technical systems hosted across on-premises Microsoft Server and Azure environments.

Support enterprise application integrations, archive-system integrations, and platforms such as Finastra.

Participate in incident, problem, change, and release-management processes.

Maintain operational stability while meeting agreed service levels and business-continuity requirements.
Security and Vulnerability Management

Identify, assess, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across applications, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.

Design and implement remediation solutions aligned with internal security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Respond promptly to critical vulnerabilities and coordinate immediate mitigation activities to protect systems and data.

Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and risk teams to track and report vulnerability-management activities.

Maintain accurate evidence and documentation to support governance, compliance, and audit requirements.

Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, security practices, and regulatory developments relevant to the technology landscape.
Monitoring and Observability

Use monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, BigPanda, and Splunk to track system health, application performance, incidents, and deployment activity.

Configure and maintain dashboards, alerts, and operational reports to enable the timely detection of anomalies and service degradation.

Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, recurring issues, capacity concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

Integrate monitoring, alerting, and validation controls into deployment and automation workflows.

Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to improve system visibility and incident response.
Data Management and Reporting

Write, review, troubleshoot, and optimize Microsoft SQL queries.

Perform controlled data uploads, updates, and mutations in accordance with change-management and data-governance requirements.

Analyze operational and application data to generate reports, metrics, and statistics for technical and business stakeholders.

Ensure data-related activities are validated, traceable, and appropriately documented.
Collaboration and Governance

Work closely with engineers, developers, product managers, designers, testers, security specialists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and coordinate delivery.

Participate in technical projects, roadmap planning, architectural discussions, and the integration of new technologies and applications.

Produce and maintain deployment procedures, automation documentation, runbooks, support guides, and technical standards.

Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the continuous improvement of deployment, support, security, and operational practices.

Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience

Proven professional experience developing PowerShell scripts and automation solutions for deployment, configuration, and system management.

Strong knowledge of application deployment, release management, and CI/CD principles.

Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Git.

Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments.
-
Experience working with on-premises, Microsoft Azure, and hybrid-cloud architectures.

Good understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible.

Strong Microsoft SQL skills, including writing, reviewing, troubleshooting, and optimizing queries.

Experience supporting enterprise applications, application integrations, and archive-system integrations.

Familiarity with enterprise financial-services platforms, such as Finastra, is advantageous.

Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, BigPanda, and Splunk.

Demonstrated experience in vulnerability remediation, security controls, and regulated technology environments.

Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and incident-management capabilities.

Ability to manage complex deployments and production changes with accuracy and minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Relevant Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, DevOps, ITIL, or security certifications.

Experience working in financial services, banking, or another highly regulated industry.
