Join the Equipment Development team in Tolochenaz and contribute to the development of next-generation manufacturing, testing, and inspection technologies that help ensure the highest quality standards for Medtronic’s life-saving medical devices. During this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in industrial vision systems, artificial intelligence, and automation while working alongside experienced engineers to develop and evaluate innovative image acquisition and analysis solutions.
Internship details:
- Start date: 1st September 2026
- Location: Tolochenaz, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland
- Duration: 6 months
- Working hours: 40h/week
- Work model: Onsite
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Support the evaluation and selection of industrial vision hardware, including cameras, optics, and lighting systems.
- Assist with the setup and integration of image acquisition equipment and prototype vision systems.
- Help develop image processing and AI solutions using computer vision and machine learning tools.
- Support data preparation, model testing, and performance analysis to improve defect detection and inspection accuracy.
- Assist with technical documentation, feasibility studies, and presentation of project results to engineering stakeholders.
Required knowledge and skills:
- Recently graduated or pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Vision, Industrial Informatics, Microtechnology, Robotics, Automation, Computer Science, or a related engineering field
- Fluency in French and English
- Basic to intermediate programming skills in Python or C++
- Familiarity with computer vision, image processing, or machine learning concepts
- Strong analytical thinking and collaboration skills
Would be a plus:
- Experience with AI/computer vision frameworks
- Knowledge of industrial cameras, optics, or imaging systems.
- Experience working on research, academic, or personal projects related to AI, machine vision, or automation.
