The Image Processing Engineer is a technical contributor within the Machine-Readable Features Laboratory, supporting the development, integration, validation, and optimization of image processing and computer vision algorithms used in machine-readable authentication and traceability systems.
The role covers a broad range of technologies including image analysis, machine vision, computer vision, optical sensing, signal processing, and machine learning techniques applied to advanced security features. The position combines algorithm development, software implementation, data analysis, system integration, and experimental validation in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including optics, electronics, chemistry, software engineering, and data science.
This position is well suited for an engineer seeking to build deep expertise in image processing, industrial machine vision, and authentication technologies, while contributing to innovative security solutions from concept through industrial deployment.
ROLE
Develop, maintain, and optimize embedded software applications in C/C++ for real-time and Linux-based platforms.
Design, develop, and maintain software running on RTOS, embedded Linux, microcontrollers, microprocessors, DSPs, and System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms.
Support the integration of embedded software with electronics, optics, and sensor subsystems.
Design and execute software testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Investigate and resolve software defects, field issues, and system integration challenges.
Contribute to software documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test reports, user documentation, and maintenance procedures.
Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate actively within multidisciplinary project teams including electronics engineers, software engineers, physicists, chemists, and scientists.
PROFILE
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Computer Vision, Image Processing, or equivalent. Relevant experience in the specific field.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of image processing and computer vision techniques.
Experience with Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development and optimization.
Proficient in AI-powered image processing, object detection, segmentation, OCR, and computer vision using PyTorch, OpenCV, YOLO, and multimodal LLM technologies.Strong understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques applied to image analysis and pattern recognition.
Experience developing, training, validating, and deploying deep learning models for image classification, object detection, segmentation, feature extraction, and anomaly detection.
Comfortable using data analysis and visualization tools for algorithm evaluation and reporting.
