Shape your future together with us!
We are looking for a curious, analytical, and motivated data scientist to join AXA Group’s Risk Management team in Winterthur.
This is a hands-on internship where you will support the team in building a cutting-edge solvency reporting solution on Databricks. You’ll work on designing and implementing a modern database that transforms our current SAP-based solvency reporting while thinking of new reporting-related analysis features.
What you can expect
Join AXA, a globally leading organization employing highly qualified and skilled professionals worldwide. This unique opportunity allows you to work hands-on on a transformative project that will fundamentally reshape solvency reporting and risk management across AXA Group. Your contributions will have immediate, measurable impact on one of our most critical functions. If you are seeking a role where your expertise truly matters and creates lasting value, we'd love to hear from you.
What you bring to the table
-
Strong coding foundation with proficiency in SQL (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.). You have solid experience writing SQL queries and understanding relational database concepts, including schema design, normalization, and query optimization. You can think critically about how to organize data logically and efficiently
-
Programming expertise in Python and/or R. You're comfortable writing production-quality code in at least one of these languages and can leverage it for data manipulation, and integration with Databricks workflows
-
Databricks familiarity is a plus. While not mandatory, experience with cloud platforms or Databricks is a bonus. More importantly, you are eager to learn modern data engineering practices and go beyond traditional approaches. We value curiosity and the ability to propose innovative solutions that extend beyond our existing SAP framework
-
Strong interpersonal skills. We expect the successful candidate to work as a team player in a multi-cultural environment with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn. Fluent in spoken and written English. German is an asset
