We are seeking a senior and strategic Head of Product & Solution Marketing to lead how Sulzer’s portfolio of pumps, separation technologies, services and sustainability solutions is positioned and activated globally. This role will drive commercial growth by developing compelling value propositions, leading go-to-market strategy and enabling Sales across Flow, Services and Chemtech.
You will own the product marketing agenda — spanning portfolio positioning, solution launches, sales enablement and market intelligence — while building a high-performing team and embedding a customer-centric, insight-driven culture across the marketing function.
In this role you will be accountable for:
Product & Solution Marketing Strategy and Plan
Define and own the global product and solution marketing strategy, aligned with Sulzer’s corporate strategy and divisional and BU priorities across Flow, Services and Chemtech
Develop clear value propositions and positioning frameworks for core product lines including pumps, separation technologies, rotating equipment services, bioplastics (PLA) and digital monitoring
Lead One Sulzer targeting for priority verticals: water/wastewater, oil & gas, chemical processing, energy, food & beverage, and green hydrogen
Translate Sulzer’s sustainability narrative — decarbonisation, green hydrogen, CCUS, circular economy — into credible, differentiated market positioning
Marketing Execution
Lead the marketing of solution launch plans for new products, technologies and market entries, coordinating across divisions, regions and functions
Ensure consistent and compelling positioning across all customer-facing channels: digital, events, sales tools, technical literature and campaigns
Partner with Sales and Commercial Excellence to develop sales enablement materials, competitive battlecards, customer case studies, ROI tools and technical value-selling content
Drive differentiated messaging for Sulzer’s aftermarket and service offerings, leveraging the expanding global service network and long-term customer partnerships
Define yearly marketing plans and lead execution of marketing campaigns in alignment w regional and digital marketing
Marketing Insights
Work closely with Product Management to influence roadmap priorities based on market trends, customer needs and competitive dynamics
Monitor developments in decarbonisation, industrial digitalisation and sustainable process technologies to identify positioning opportunities
Team Leadership & Capability Development
Lead, inspire and develop a team of product and solution marketers across geographies, fostering a culture of commercial creativity, analytical rigour and customer centricity
Set clear goals, KPIs and development plans for direct reports; build capability in product storytelling, digital marketing and data-driven decision-making
Establish best-practice processes for product launch, content development and campaign execution across divisions
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the key marketing interface with Division Presidents, BU & Region Heads, VP Sales and Product Management leaders across Flow, Services and Chemtech
Work closely with Corporate Communications to integrate product and solution narratives into employer brand, investor messaging and corporate reputation activities
Collaborate with Digital Marketing and Regional marketing to ensure solution content is optimised for digital channels, SEO and lead generation; manage external agencies and specialist content partners
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
12+ years' experience in B2B product, solution, or commercial marketing, including senior leadership experience.
Proven success developing value propositions, portfolio positioning, and go-to-market strategies for complex B2B solutions.
Experience in industrial engineering, fluid engineering, rotating equipment, chemical processing, or similar capital equipment industries.
Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and customer-centric mindset.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills in a global matrix organisation.
Experience with CRM and marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and modern marketing approaches such as ABM and digital marketing.
Fluent English; German is a strong advantage.
Experience in aftermarket or service marketing is a plus.
