Job Introduction
We are recruiting a Contract Director to lead the safe, compliant and high‑performing delivery of facilities management services across a complex and politically sensitive central‑government estate. This is a hybrid position (home‑based with travel across sites) requiring a strategic leader who can provide stability through transition, transformation and potential demobilisation while maintaining service continuity, risk control and strong client confidence. The successful candidate will be required to pass BPSS clearance.

Main Responsibilities
- Leading the Contract Through Change – Providing confident, visible leadership during periods of material change, including contract uncertainty, service transformation, re-procurement or demobilisation activity. Maintaining operational stability, workforce engagement and client confidence while managing ambiguity and incomplete information.
- Operating in a High-Profile Government Environment – Managing service delivery within a politically sensitive central government context where performance, compliance, reputation and ministerial assurance are critical. Balancing operational delivery with heightened scrutiny and risk exposure.
- Delivering Financial and Operational Control – Ensuring committed financial and service targets are met while protecting value during transition. Closely managing cost, revenue, performance exposure and contractual risk to minimise financial, reputational and operational impact.
- Client Relationship and Assurance Management – Acting as the senior strategic interface with MoJ stakeholders, leading all engagement relating to contract performance, change, transition and risk. Ensuring transparency, trust and a ‘no surprises’ approach at all times.
- People Leadership During Uncertainty – Leading and supporting a large, diverse workforce through periods of change, ensuring clear communication, retention of critical capability, fair treatment, and values-led handling of redeployment, transition or exit activity.
- Risk, Compliance and Governance – Ensuring all statutory, regulatory, contractual and safety requirements continue to be met throughout transition activity, with robust risk management, assurance, business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements in place.
- Team Management – Selecting, managing, engaging and developing highly performing and diverseoperating teams, with right skills and capabilities. Considering opportunities to create equity to ensure the workforce reflects the CLIENT workforce and wider society.
- Strategy and Planning – Deployment of the account strategy and ensuring that effective plans are in place to deliver against strategy.
- Drive a zero-harm mindset – Leading by example and ensuring compliance with 3 checks for safety and the 7 safety nets.
- Foster a Continuous Improvement mindset – encourage proactive problem solving and innovation in collaboration across Sodexo teams, suppliers and other stakeholder groups.
