For our location in Bassersdorf (Zurich) we are looking for a committed personality as Team Leader E-Commerce & Warehouse (m/f/d) – 100%. In this strategic-operational leadership role, you will lead and develop our warehouse and e-commerce operations team. In doing so, you will ensure efficient processes, the highest compliance standards, precise customs clearance and first-class service provision.
Your tasks:
E-Commerce & Transport Operations
- Independently manage the entire international import and export logistics with a focus on air freight and road transport.
- Strategically and systematically monitor all complex customs clearance processes and compliance checks in accordance with applicable international trade regulations.
- Managing end-to-end B2C fulfillment processes, adhering to demanding service level agreements (SLAs) and establishing efficient returns logistics.
- Act as a direct, competent contact for customs authorities, B2C parcel service providers, air carriers, freight forwarders and global logistics partners.
- Work closely with IT to drive the seamless integration and automation of data flows between ERP, WMS, OMS, and e-commerce interfaces.
Warehouse Operations & Strategy
- Manage the strategic orientation of the entire warehouse and establish modern warehouse and inventory management strategies to ensure maximum inventory accuracy and optimal use of space.
- Define and enforce structured standard processes (SOPs) to guarantee a smooth, safe and error-free material flow from goods receipt to shipping.
- Have overall responsibility for defining, measuring, and reporting warehouse KPIs to provide visibility into operational performance and implement targeted efficiencies.
- Systematically analyze and eliminate weak points in physical processes in order to optimize processes and make the warehouse layout future-proof.
- Manage capacity and resource planning at a strategic level to ensure cost-efficient processing even with strongly fluctuating e-commerce volumes (especially in peak phases).
Quality, Safety & Compliance Management (AEO, RegB, GDP)
- Ensure the complete conformity of all processes with the strict requirements of the AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status.
- As the responsible person, enforce the aviation security requirements as a regulated agent (RegB) in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) throughout operations.
- Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines for sensitive and temperature-sensitive goods in the storage and transport process.
- Continuously develop the internal quality management system, train employees regularly and independently prepare and accompany internal and external authority and customer audits.
Leadership & People Management
- Leadership, motivation and further development of the warehouse and e-commerce team as well as promotion of a partnership-based, performance-oriented and positive working atmosphere.
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive coaching and feedback, support individual employee development, and proactively nurture working relationships
- Organization of staffing, work distribution and shift planning to ensure smooth daily operations during peak and off-peak periods.
What you bring to the table:
- Several years of in-depth professional experience in warehouse logistics, e-commerce fulfillment or cross-border logistics, combined with demonstrable management experience
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate teams, constructively solve interpersonal challenges, and drive performance
- Sound understanding of customs and export procedures as well as international shipping requirements
- Experience in shift planning and resource allocation in a dynamic, high-volume operational environment
- Good knowledge of customs regulations, export documentation and international shipping requirements
- IT affinity with very good MS Office skills (especially Excel) and practical experience in dealing with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems or order management systems (OMS)
- Ability to analyze operational performance, generate reports and budgets, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to set priorities and make informed decisions even under pressure.
- A completed apprenticeship or degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration or a related field is an advantage.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, is essential for daily cooperation with Swiss authorities, local logistics partners and our international team.
