About the Role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth within the Swiss insurance market. This role is particularly suited to professionals with a consulting or advisory background who combine strong commercial acumen with the ability to build trusted relationships and navigate complex sales cycles.
You will focus on winning new clients and expanding strategic accounts, with an emphasis on digital, data, and AI-driven transformation initiatives across life, non-life, and health insurers.
Key Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and win new insurance clients across the Swiss market (life, non-life, health)

Develop and execute market entry strategies for new and competitor-held accounts

Lead end-to-end sales cycles, including opportunity shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure

Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders (CIO, COO, Heads of IT, Claims, Operations, Digital)

Drive account growth through cross-sell, up-sell, and long-term account planning

Own and manage a robust sales pipeline, including revenue targets and forecasting

Collaborate with internal teams to design and position tailored technology and transformation solutions

Ensure alignment between client expectations and delivery capabilities

Maintain a strong understanding of insurance industry priorities such as claims efficiency, core system modernization, cost optimization, and regulatory requirements
Candidate Profile

8–12+ years of experience in business development, consulting, or client-facing roles within insurance, financial services, or IT consulting

Proven track record of acquiring new clients and growing strategic accounts

Experience selling digital, AI, data, or technology transformation solutions

Strong understanding of the Swiss insurance market and regulatory landscape

Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with executive presence

Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities

Fluent Swiss German (native level required), as well as German and English

Degree in Business, Finance, IT, or a related discipline preferred
