You are an experienced software engineer with a strong architectural background, used to working hands-on with complex software systems in the healthcare domain. You’re comfortable navigating regulated environments and understand what it takes to design, build, and run secure, high-quality solutions that work in real clinical and operational settings.
Standards are not just something you “support”, you actively drive them. You have hands-on experience implementing HL7 FHIR in a Swiss healthcare context, including working with Swiss FHIR implementation guides. You understand how FHIR fits into broader interoperability architectures and can design secure, standards-based solutions that work in practice.
You enjoy acting as a trusted advisor. Partners and customers turn to you not only for technical answers, but also for guidance on architecture, integration strategies, and long-term sustainability. You’re able to translate complex requirements into clear designs and help teams make good decisions without over-engineering.
You work independently and take ownership. You’re comfortable shaping your own mandate, identifying where you can add value, and pushing initiatives forward. At the same time, you enjoy collaborating with others: developers, architects, clinicians, product people, and external stakeholders. You communicate clearly and pragmatically.
You see yourself as part of the broader digital health community in Switzerland. You actively participate in HL7 user groups or similar forums, enjoy exchanging ideas, and want to contribute to the evolution of standards and best practices. Acting as an ambassador for Trifork, through dialogue, collaboration, and visibility, feels natural to you.
You speak and write both German and English fluently, and you’re able to be present in the Zurich area around 20–40% of the time to engage with customers, partners, and the local community.
What we look for
We’re looking for someone who can independently drive standards-based digital health initiatives and help shape secure, robust solutions from idea to implementation.
You bring:
Experience designing and implementing software systems in digital health, with the ability to tackle complex, everyday problems
A pragmatic mindset: focused on what works, what’s valuable, and what can realistically be delivered
A strong foundation in software engineering principles and best practices, including security, scalability, maintainability, and quality
Experience scoping, designing, and advising on security, infrastructure, and solution architectures in complex environments
Ability to produce clear, structured, and review-ready technical documentation
The ability to support and guide partners and customers as a trusted technical advisor
Fluency in German & English
Additionally, you bring either, some or all of the following:
Hands-on expertise with HL7 FHIR, including real-world implementation, integration, and architectural design
Experience with Swiss implementation guides such as CH EPR / CH EPD, CH EMED, CH LAB, or CH VACD
Use of clinical terminologies (e.g. SNOMED CT, LOINC)
Knowledge of IHE profiles (e.g. XDS, PIX/PDQ, ATNA)
Familiarity with assessment processes, ballots, or formal review procedures in standards organisations (e.g. HL7)
Beyond technical skills, we value how you show up:
You take ownership and are comfortable representing Trifork externally and contributing to the Swiss digital health standards community
You enjoy helping others succeed and raising the overall quality of solutions and collaboration
At Trifork, you’ll have the space to influence how standards are applied in practice, advise across projects and organizations, and help design impactful digital health solutions that make a real difference.
