Onsite IT Support Engineer

We are modernising internal IT operations across a globally distributed organisation. This role provides hands-on support for employees, workplace technology, office infrastructure, and end-user services while helping drive the transition from reactive support toward a more automated, scalable, and operationally mature support model.

You will be responsible for ensuring employees can work effectively from day one, supporting onboarding, workplace technology, endpoint management, and day-to-day operational IT needs. Beyond traditional support activities, you will contribute to process improvement, automation, documentation, and service standardisation initiatives.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment. You work closely with Internal IT & Support, Digital Workplace, Infrastructure, Security, and business users to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient technology services across regional office locations.

Responsibilities
Provide onsite and remote support for end-user technology, workplace systems, and operational IT services.
Support employee onboarding, offboarding, device provisioning, workplace setup, and access coordination activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, collaboration, and workplace technology issues.
Support management of endpoints, user accounts, mobile devices, and workplace applications.
Assist with meeting room technology, printers, office infrastructure, and local technology deployments.
Maintain accurate asset records, device inventories, and operational documentation.
Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership and communication with users.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives that improve user experience and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive support effort through automation, scripting, self-service, and standardisation.
Support endpoint compliance, security controls, and operational policies in partnership with Security and Infrastructure teams.
Assist with office moves, expansions, technology refreshes, and regional workplace projects.
Contribute to knowledge management, documentation, and operational runbooks.
What you will work with
End-user devices including laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and workplace equipment.
Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, and workplace productivity platforms.
Identity and access management processes.
Endpoint management and device lifecycle operations.
Meeting room systems, collaboration technologies, and office infrastructure.
ITSM processes, ticketing systems, and operational support workflows.
Automation, scripting, and self-service support capabilities.
Regional business users and office operations teams.

Requirements
Experience in onsite IT support, end-user computing, workplace technology, or service desk environments.
Practical experience supporting Windows devices, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and workplace collaboration tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and user support scenarios.
Experience supporting onboarding, offboarding, endpoint management, and workplace operations.
Understanding of ITSM processes and support workflows.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with users and stakeholders.
Strong customer service mindset combined with operational discipline.
Experience maintaining documentation, knowledge bases, and operational records.
Familiarity with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell is advantageous.
Interest in continuously improving support processes and reducing manual operational effort.
