The Experience
The Senior Forward Deployed Engineer is part of Salesforce's delivery organisation, responsible for designing, building, and deploying agentic AI solutions directly inside enterprise customer environments. In this role, you will work as part of a delivery pod — partnering closely with a Deployment Strategist to co-build solutions that go live in production environments from day one, spanning configuration, customisation, and full-stack deployment across some of the largest enterprises in the world.
We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer who brings a builder mindset, strong production-grade engineering experience, and the ability to own and deliver complex technical components — someone who ships quality code, contributes to team knowledge, and leaves customer teams more capable after every engagement.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Design and build AI agents and experiences that take real actions for real organisations — owning technical components end-to-end from architecture choice through to deployed, validated, and observable in production, including agent intelligence design, prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems.
Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer data platforms, and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
Contribute to and help lead Proofs of Concept (PoC) and Minimum Viable Products (MVP) that move from concept to deployable in days — co-building alongside customers and partners and sharing best practices as you go.
Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior engineers and product teams — partnering with the Deployment Strategist in your pod to translate customer business challenges into agentic solutions that actually ship.
You're Our Person If...
You have 5 or more years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system you can walk us through — ideally in an AI technology stack, full-stack development, or working with frontier Large Language Models (LLMs).
You have solid customer-facing technical delivery experience in consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering, and are fluent in at least two of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex.
You have strong hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering, a solid understanding of data modelling, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and integration patterns, and the ability to engage confidently with customer architects and sales teams.
You are excited to travel approximately 25% of the time, working directly alongside customers, and you thrive in fast-moving, build-oriented environments.
Even Better If...
You hold one or more Salesforce platform certifications such as Platform Developer I or Agentforce Specialist, and have familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex and orchestration patterns.
You have hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, and experience across specialist AI delivery areas including data engineering, platform architecture, or headless deployments.
