Junior Power Analyst
As a result of our continuing expansion, an exciting position has opened up in our Power Trading Team for a Junior Power Analyst. This role offers the opportunity to work, learn and grow alongside experienced traders and analysts, directly contributing to the Team’s success in European power markets.
The successful candidate will work on the development and daily operation of fundamental stack model for European power markets, simulating supply and demand scenarios, analysing market fundamentals and contributing to the development of trading strategies. The role will involve working with large datasets and translating changes in generation, demand, weather, cross-border flows and other market fundamentals into meaningful market insights.
Strong business acumen is required, as well as a passion for quantitative analysis and development, given the continuous interaction with Traders, Meteorologists, Analysts and IT Developers.
Requirements
Ideally, you will have 1–2 years of experience in an analytical environment and a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Quantitative Economics/Finance, with a solid academic background.
Strong data analysis and coding skills (Python and SQL) are essential. You will be fluent in English, while a second European language will be considered a plus.
Although not strictly required, previous experience or knowledge of power markets, energy markets, optimisation or fundamental market modelling would be advantageous.
