About the role
The Destinus engineering team is seeking a Lead Technician to organise and schedule production floor activities in the field of integration and testing of mechanisms, safety devices, pyrotechnic assemblies, as well as management of two assembly technicians. The role requires hands-on working with energetic and hazardous materials in a safety-critical environment.
The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, leads by example and understands that quality in this environment comes from process discipline, rigorous adherence to safety procedures, and meticulous documentation.
What You'll Do

Lead the team of two to three assembly technicians

Prepare and maintain Shopfloor Management Board

Oversee the daily production as well as keep track and maintain sufficient stock of materials

Prepare assembly kits and manage flow of material through the production floor

Assemble and integrate pyrotechnic assemblies hands-on.

Handle energetic and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable safety protocols, permits, and operating procedures.

Write, maintain, and follow SOPs for assembly, integration, and testing operations, ensuring safety and repeatability at every step.

Support troubleshooting and corrective actions in collaboration with engineering and QA teams.

Contribute to continuous improvement of assembly workflows while maintaining compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Requirements
What you'll need
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a production environment, with proven leadership experience overseeing and developing technicians.

Experience working with ERP systems, preferably in an MSD environment.

Strong hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical systems.

Experience or willingness to work with energetic, pyrotechnic, or otherwise hazardous materials; knowledge of relevant safety requirements is a strong advantage.

Experience with quality control, functional testing, and documentation standards.

Ability to write and execute SOPs in a detail-driven, safety-critical environment.

Experience working in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.

High attention to detail and a disciplined, methodical approach to assembly and testing.

Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.
