Duties and Responsibilities
The Making Trade Happen (MTH) project, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Devel-opment Office (FCDO) and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC), supports Jordanian businesses in strengthening export competitiveness, improving market linkages with the United Kingdom, and advancing a more enabling environment for services trade. MTH builds on the achievements of previous UK Trade Partnerships programme and intro-duces an integrated, market driven approach to supporting Jordanian firms and institutions. Under the 2026–2027 project cycle, MTH delivers targeted interventions across three priority sectors—processed foods, consulting services, and digital gaming—while advancing trade policy dialogue and enhancing national capacities for services trade data collection. Effective implementation requires close coordination with national institutions, BSOs, pri-vate sector stakeholders, and development partners. To ensure coherent delivery, timely fol-low up, and strong national ownership, ITC seeks to recruit a National Project Coordinator to support day to day coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, and operational facili-tation across all components of the MTH project. Description of Duties/Responsibilities: The National Project Coordinator (NPC) will be responsible for the effective day-to-day coor-dination and delivery of the MTH project in Jordan. Under the direct supervision of the ITC Programme Manager and in collaboration with ITC technical teams, the NPC will ensure the timely and quality implementation of all planned activities. The NPC will also serve as the na-tional focal point for stakeholders, including government, private sector, and business support institutions. Responsibilities will include the following: A. Stakeholder Engagement and Institutional Coordination • Act as the primary liaison with key national institutions, including relevant ministries, business support organizations (BSOs), chambers, and associations, to ensure buy-in, alignment, and ownership of the project. • Organize and facilitate bilateral stakeholder meetings and maintain stakeholder engagement throughout project implementation. • Coordinate with institutions involved in trade-in-services data and regulatory reform (e.g., MoITS, CBJ, DOS), ensuring alignment with project objectives. • Support organization of validation workshops, public-private dialogues, and technical trainings where required. • Maintain a stakeholder engagement log and follow up on institutional commitments and feedback. B: SME Mobilization, Selection, and Advisory Support • Disseminate the call for applications and related promotional materials (e.g., flyer, email template) in coordination with ITC headquarters. • Actively mobilize SMEs to apply, including outreach through BSOs and direct engagement. • Verify and complete SME baseline data (including employment, turnover, exports) through phone calls or site visits. • Collaborate with ITC to define transparent selection criteria and oversee the shortlisting of a targeted number of SMEs, documenting the entire process with evaluation matrices, scoring breakdowns, and communications. • Segment selected SMEs into differentiated support tracks based on growth capacity and export readiness. • Organize and facilitate orientation sessions for selected SMEs, clarifying the project’s objectives, deliverables, and engagement expectations. C: Technical Delivery Coordination and SME Engagement • Monitor and coordinate the delivery of technical assistance to SMEs, as per the project delivery plan. • Liaise with ITC trainers and coaches to ensure timely, tailored, and quality delivery of SME support services. • Follow up with SMEs and BSOs to track progress, ensure commitment, and troubleshoot any lack of engagement. Proactively address challenges to ensure full participation in project activities. • Maintain a tracking matrix of SME-level results and improvements across targeted capacity areas. • Recommend qualified local experts for specific assignments and support review of CVs where needed. D: Logistics, Trade Fair Preparation, and Market Linkages • Coordinate all logistical arrangements for trainings, workshops, coaching and events, including venue bookings, materials preparation, hospitality, interpretation, and compliance with ITC procurement procedures. • Support the shortlisting of SMEs for participation in trade fairs and documentation of outcomes, including leads generated and business partnerships. E: Monitoring, Reporting, and Project Planning • Support the development and regular updating of the national workplan in alignment with the MTH activity plan. • Ensure sequencing of activities across workstreams to support efficient delivery and avoid overlap. • Attend weekly coordination calls with ITC to assess progress and agree on next steps. Submit a weekly action plan each Friday, outlining completed activities, risks/issues, and the following week’s priorities. • Prepare and submit: o Monthly PowerPoint presentations summarizing output-level progress for donor/internal use. o Quarterly Progress Reports (by the end of September, December) and a Annual Report (by the end of March 2027), summarizing activities, baseline vs endline comparisons, and project results. Templates to be provided by ITC. • Collect and submit means of verification (e.g., attendance sheets, evaluation forms, survey results, photos, meeting minutes) to validate achievements. • Participate in ITC field missions, managing meeting logistics, invitations, participant lists, printing, and meeting minutes.
